Top 5 Carpooling and Ridesharing Apps in Saudi Arabia Q3 2021

The third quarter of 2021 saw notable performance trends among the top carpooling and ridesharing apps in Saudi Arabia. Here, we break down the weekly downloads, active users, and revenue for these apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Uber - Request a ride experienced a consistent pattern in weekly downloads, with numbers fluctuating between 29K and 43K. The highest download count was around 43K in the week of August 30. Weekly active users showed a steady increase, peaking at approximately 804K in the same week. Despite these high engagement numbers, the app reported no revenue during this period.

Careem – rides, food & more also showed variable weekly downloads, ranging from 19K to 29K, with the highest downloads occurring in late September. Active users peaked at around 581K in mid-September, showcasing a significant rise from earlier in the quarter. Like Uber, Careem did not report any revenue during this timeframe.

Jeeny - جيني saw its weekly downloads hover between 14K and 25K, with a notable peak at 25K in late July. Active users remained stable, fluctuating between 90K and 109K throughout the quarter. Revenue data was not reported for Jeeny during this period.

Wsslini displayed a more erratic pattern in weekly downloads, ranging from 3.5K to 26K, with a significant spike to 88K in mid-August. Active users followed a similar trend, increasing from 5.8K to 25K by the end of the quarter. As with the other apps, Wsslini did not report any revenue data.

Finally, Bolt: Request a Ride saw weekly downloads between 10K and 27K, with a peak of 27K in late August. Weekly active users grew from 61K to 86K in the same period. Like the others, Bolt did not have any reported revenue.
